"The Journey" depicts a beautiful view from Mt Hood, looking over Bear Grass toward its peak. The painting's title stems from my discovery of this alpine meadow while heading to Umbrella Falls—the meadow was truly the highlight of my adventure. It perfectly illustrates Ralph Waldo Emerson idea that "Life is a journey, not a destination".
