
BIOGRAPHY
Kathryn is an accomplished oil painter renowned for capturing the subtle beauty of everyday life in both rural and urban settings. Her impressionistic approach is distinguished by vibrant palettes and striking lighting. She maintains a diverse portfolio, which includes landscapes, historic barns, urban street scenes, and animal portraits.
Kathryn has been passionate about art from an early age. She pursued studies in photography, drawing, and textiles for a year at the Oregon School of Arts & Crafts. Intending to unite her passion for art with business, Kathryn attended college in Vermont, majoring in Economics, while spending summers at Rhode Island School of Design. After earning her BA in Economics, she completed four years at Parsons School of Design, obtaining a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design.
Following her academic pursuits, Kathryn embarked on a creative career beginning in the home textile industry, focusing on marketing and product development. She later transitioned into package design, branding and advertising.
Throughout her professional journey, Kathryn has remained devoted to oil painting, regularly refining her technique through classes with prominent artists. In 2024, she made the decision to leave her design career to dedicate herself fully to painting. Her artistic practice continues to thrive through sales, commissioned works for businesses and individuals, and frequent travel, which inspires new pieces from Oregon to the east coast.
