BIOGRAPHY
My love of art started as early as I can remember. Art was always my favorite subject in school. In high school, I was into photography. I always had my camera and spent hours in the dark room. For the year after high school, I studied photography, drawing and textiles at Oregon School of Arts & Crafts
While I have a passion for art and design, I am also interested in business. I always admired entrepreneurs and often read Fortune and Inc magazines. I had the dream of mixing my love of art and business. For college, I headed to Vermont and studied Economics. I spent my summers studying at Rhode Island School of Design. After earning my BA in Economics, I spent 4 years at Parsons School of Design and earned a degree in Advertising and Graphic Design.
Since college, I have always worked in creative roles. I started in the home textile industry doing marketing and product development. After that, I moved into package design for games, and then branding and advertising.
I love to oil paint. It brings me joy and balance. For decades, I have painted, shown my work and studied with the best painters. My subject matter is often cityscapes or landscapes. I like to capture people in peaceful moments. I also love animal portraits.
My life beyond art and design includes a wonder family – my husband Mikal, my adult kids Jacob and Nicolai, two Golden Retrievers and a cat. We have lots of fun times traveling, dining, laughing and going on outdoor adventures.
